ALERT! Internet Explorer 7 Security Flaw
Microsoft has identified a major vulnerability in Internet Explorer 7 that can allow a malicious web site to take over the user's computer. On Wednesday evening (12/17/2008) Microsoft released a patch through Windows Update to fix the security vulnerability in Internet Explorer. How to Update Windows XP
1. Go to http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/
2. Click on "Custom"
3. Once the scan is finished, make sure "Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP (KB 960714)" is checked and then click "Install Updates"
4. On the next page click the button that says "Install Updates"
5. Once the update is finished installing you will need to restart your computer
How to Update Windows Vista
1. Open Windows Update (click the Start button, click All Programs, and then click Windows Update).
2. In the left pane, click Check for updates, and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your PC.
3. If any updates are found, click View available updates.
4. Check to be sure "Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows Vista (KB 960714)" and then click Install. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
